Job description
Role Description

This is a Monday through Friday on-site role for a High School Science & Math Teacher at CIH Academy, located in Rockland, ON. The teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and educational lessons in Grade 9 & 10 Science and G11 Math assessing and evaluating student performance, and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Additional responsibilities include creating lesson plans in alignment with curriculum standards, providing individual support to students, and maintaining open communication with parents and colleagues to support student success.

Qualifications
  • Expertise in Science & Mathinstruction, including curriculum planning and lesson delivery
  • Strong skills in assessment, evaluation, and providing constructive feedback to students
  • Ability to create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; teaching certification or licensure is preferred
  • Prior teaching experience in Science & Mathat the high school level is preferred
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on educational trends
  • An understanding of diverse learning needs and strategies to support individual student growth
About the Role:
  • Start Date - As soon as possible
  • Small classrooms with an average of 10-15 students: enhanced student engagement & interactions; less administrative work (i.e. report cards, marking)
