Job Description
  • Inspecting trucks,cranes, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment for properperformance.
  • Perform electrical,hydraulic, and mechanical repairs as well as preventativemaintenance.
  • Service, repair andmaintenance of a variety of automotive equipment such ascontainer truck lifts, reach stacker, front end loaders, cranesand other special purpose types of equipment.
  • Diagnosing faultsusing computerized testing equipment.
  • Determine what partsand tools are necessary to make repairs.
  • Determines vehiclecondition by conducting inspections and diagnostictests;Provides instruction and training in the proper methodsand processes necessary to perform equipment repair, inspectionand preventive maintenance, identifying worn and damagedparts.
  • Cleaning,lubricating, and conducting routine services onheavy-duty vehicles
  • Troubleshoot issueswith diesel engines.
  • Test repairedequipment for proper performance and to ensure that workmeets manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Cleaning andservicing of machine attachments like winches, blades,and side booms.
  • Maintain a schedulefor preventative maintenance on all equipment providingfor lubrication, replacement of tires and tuneups.
  • Performing majorrepair work when necessary.
  • Provides instructionand training in the proper methods and processes necessaryto perform equipment repair, inspection and preventivemaintenance.
  • Reporting damaged orfaulty equipment to management.
Requirements
  • High school diplomaor GED.
  • Post-secondarycertificate or degree in engineering OR training as a mechanic(a plus).
  • Minimum 3 years’experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy dieselequipment, or equivalent.
  • Understanding ofcomputer testing technologies.
  • Welding experience (aplus).
  • Extensive knowledgeof diesel engines and constructionequipment.
  • Valid driver’slicense and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to workafter-hours if required.
  • Ability to lift heavy machinery.
