Job summary

A leading security firm in Kingston, Ontario is seeking a part-time Healthcare Security Guard. Responsibilities include maintaining a visible security presence and assisting patients and staff. The ideal candidate must have a valid Ontario Security Guard License, First Aid & CPR certification, and good communication skills. Position: Healthcare Security Guard Full-Time - IPS

Site: Ininew Patient Services - 237 Ontario St

Hours: Sunday, Saturday 08:00-20:00

Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Pay Rate: $25.45/hour

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a professional and visible security presence
  • Greet, assist, and direct patients, visitors, and staff
  • Protect clients, staff, buildings, and assets
  • Work independently and collaboratively
  • Conduct interior and exterior patrols
  • Respond to emergencies and support code responses
  • Document and report incidents; conduct investigations as required
  • Perform patient watches and enforce hospital policies/by-laws
  • Manage access control, keys, and parking enforcement
  • Assist with monthly safety inspections and other assigned duties
Qualifications
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Level C (WSIB-approved provider)
  • Ability to be clean-shaven for N95 mask fit testing
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (minimum two doses)
  • Immunization records for MMR, Varicella, Pertussis, and TB (Step 1 & 2)

  • KHSC Immunization Forms required
  • Full MMR-V immunization must be completed prior to hire
  • Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (completed during onboarding)
  • Minimum 6 months of security experience (healthcare preferred but not required)
  • Full-time availability with a minimum 6-month commitment
  • Strong English communication skills; French an asset
  • Minimum 6 months customer service experience preferred
  • Must provide Stay Safe certifications
  • Applicants without these may complete Paladin’s Stay Safe program prior to onboarding
  • Training is unpaid as it is a prerequisite; Paladin covers all costs with a 6-month commitment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
