Overview

Position: Health & Safety Instructor - Bilingual (Working at Heights)

Employment: Full-time

Location: Ottawa, ON

Salary: $70,000-80,000 to start, DOE

Worksite Safety Compliance Centre is looking to add another Instructor to our current training team, specifically for the delivery of our CPO-approved Working at Heights program in both French and English. If you are an experienced bilingual health and safety instructor who is passionate about construction safety education and keeping workers safe, this role is for you!

This fully bilingual Health & Safety Instructor will deliver training full-time at one of two locations in Ottawa. There may also be an opportunity for this instructor to train others on confined space entry, first aid and/or mobile equipment use (forklift and elevated work platforms). The position reports to the Manager, Instructor-Led Training.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering engaging and informative Working at Heights training to job seekers, the general public and new and current members of the construction industry
  • Evaluating participants through practical skills and written evaluation
  • Organizing, filing and submitting digital and hard copy participant records following training
  • Participating in team meetings and instructor development workshops
Qualifications
  • 3+ years experience delivering training (Working at Heights program preferred)
  • Fully bilingual in English and French
  • Background in construction management and/or other fall hazard-related industry
  • Work experience or certification in occupational health & safety preferred
  • Forklift, mobile elevated work platforms and confined space entry and rescue considered an asset
  • Active certification as a Red Cross First Aid Instructor considered an asset
  • Strong interest educating people on the importance and value of health & safety training
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently, while also contributing to a team
  • Strong presentation and adult-engagement skills
  • Valid Ontario Driver's Licence - occasional travel by car for work
  • Able to legally work in Canada
