Your Role as a Health Care Support Worker

As an integral member of our healthcare delivery team, you’ll provide essential non-clinical support to enhance the quality of life for clients and residents. Your duties will include:

  • Establishing rapport with clients, residents, and families, promoting their overall well-being.
  • Observing and reporting unsafe conditions or changes in behavior/physical health.
  • Assisting with mealtime activities, light food preparation, and setting up dining areas.
  • Supporting recreational activities, encouraging participation, and providing assistance.
  • Performing housekeeping tasks like cleaning, laundry, and dishwashing.
  • Greeting visitors and adhering to safety, security, and infection control protocols.
What We're Looking For
  • Successful completion of Grade 10, including successful completion of English 10 or equivalency
  • No prior completion of an HCA training program in BC
  • Canadian citizenship or permanent residence
  • Able to commit to entire program duration, which is expected to be anywhere from 10-18 months in length
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of carrying out physical duties included in the position
