Responsibilities

  • Perform regular inspections of various environmental and safety sensitive operations/areas.
  • Report any problems with pollution control equipment to maintenance.
  • Arrange and track the disposal of hazardous and recyclable materials.
  • Collect samples of liquid and solid wastes for analysis.
  • Maintain monthly recordkeeping on GHG, Hazardous Waste, NPRI chemicals.
  • Report accidental releases to governmental agencies.
  • Assist in regulatory inspections and environmental compliance audits.
  • Maintain Chemical Ordering Procedure for chemical usage control.
  • Maintain MSDS database for compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Attend training sessions to maintain skills.
  • Identify environmental improvement opportunities.
  • Interact with Manitoba Ministry representatives professionally.
  • Schedule training and maintain training programs.
  • Maintain and manage the Document Control Program.
  • Assist the Safety department with day-to-day activities.
  • Prepare training documents and presentations.
Job description

  • Arrange and track the disposal of hazardous, solid, liquid wastes and recyclable materials.
  • Collect samples of liquid and solid wastes for analysis.
  • Maintain monthly recordkeeping on GHG, Hazardous Waste, NPRI chemicals, utility usage, etc.
  • Report accidental releases to the appropriate governmental agencies.
  • Assist in regulatory inspections and environmental compliance audits and follow-up as required.
  • Maintain Chemical Ordering Procedure to control chemical usage in facility.
  • Maintain MSDS database and review all MSDS for compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Attend training sessions as necessary to maintain skills to meet primary function.
  • Identify environmental improvement opportunities and participate in implementation of improvements.
  • Interact with Manitoba Ministry representatives and required in a professional manner to foster and maintain sound relations.
  • Schedule training, and maintain training programs.
  • Maintain and manage the Document Control Program.
  • Assist the Safety department with day-to-day activities.
  • Prepare training documents and presentations.
