Job Summary
The Head Golf Professional is a key ambassador of Belvedere Golf & Country Club, responsible for delivering an elevated golf experience that reflects the club’s 65‑year legacy. This role oversees all aspects of golf operations, member programming, instruction, merchandise, and staff leadership while fostering a culture of excellence, warmth, and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Champion a welcoming, member‑first environment that aligns with Belvedere’s 65‑year history of community and tradition.
- Build strong relationships with members, guests, committees, and staff.
- Lead, develop, and mentor the golf operations team, including associate professionals, pro shop staff, and outside services.
- Oversee daily operations including tee sheets, pace of play, pro shop activities, practice facilities, and customer service.
- Collaborate with the Course Superintendent and General Manager to ensure seamless delivery of golf services and execution of the long‑term strategy.
- Manage pro shop merchandising, purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure operational excellence in all golf‑related touchpoints.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute member tournaments, leagues, and special events that reflect Belvedere’s culture and 65th‑anniversary celebrations.
- Support corporate tournaments and outside events in alignment with club policies.
- Curate a professional and attractive retail environment that meets member needs and enhances the club experience.
- Lead teaching programs for players of all skill levels, including private lessons, clinics, and junior development.
- Inspire growth of the game through active engagement, mentorship, and high‑quality instruction.
- Promote Belvedere’s instructional philosophy and brand.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial management for golf operations and merchandise.
- Ensure compliance with club policies, industry standards, and PGA of Canada requirements.
- Oversee scheduling, payroll input, and performance management of golf staff.
- Represent Belvedere Golf & Country Club with the highest level of professionalism within the PGA of Canada, the Alberta golf community, and the club’s membership.
- Represent the club in PGA tournaments and professional development as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Class "A" member in good standing with the PGA of Canada.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in golf operations, preferably within a private club.
- Proven ability to lead teams, build culture, and deliver exceptional member service.
- Strong operational, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with golf management software (Golf Genius, Jonas), retail/merchandise systems, and event execution.
- A passion for growing the game and elevating the member experience.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $85,000 – $95,000
