A leading global engineering firm in Saskatoon is looking for a Geotechnical Engineering Intern to join their team. This position offers hands-on experience across office, lab, and field environments, where you will assist in borehole investigations, process geotechnical data, and contribute to innovative solutions in mining and transportation. Ideal candidates are currently in their Civil or Geological Engineering program and are eager to apply their skills in real-world projects. Experience with geotechnical software is a plus.
The Opportunity:
You’ll join our Geotechnical Engineering Team in Saskatoon and gain hands-on experience across office, lab, and field environments. From supporting borehole investigations to processing geotechnical data and assisting with design work, you’ll contribute to projects that shape infrastructure and resource development across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. What you can expect to do here:
Compile and present geological and geotechnical data for project teams;
Assist with engineering design tasks using geotechnical modeling software;
Process instrumentation data and perform calculations to support design decisions;
Support field investigations, including borehole drilling, instrumentation installation, and construction supervision;
Collaborate with engineers and technical specialists to deliver innovative solutions for mining, transportation, and renewable energy projects.
What you’ll bring to WSP:
Currently enrolled in a Civil or Geological Engineering program, and have ideally completed year 3 or 4;
Completed coursework in soil mechanics or geotechnical engineering;
Strong interest in geotechnical engineering and willingness to learn;
Comfortable working in both office and field settings;
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for field work;
Experience with geotechnical software is an asset.
