Job summary

A local sushi restaurant in Burnaby is seeking a full-time cook to prepare and cook meals. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of commercial cooking experience and will be responsible for menu planning, maintaining quality standards, and training kitchen staff. This position offers a wage of CAD $35.00 to $37.00 per hour based on experience.

Job Duties:

• Prepare and cook full meals or specialty dishes
• Plan and develop menus or recipes
• Ensure food meets quality standards
• Requisition and order food and kitchen supplies
• Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items
• Provide training and guidance to kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation
• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
• May be involved in the recruitment and hiring of kitchen staff
