About Take Me Outside

Take Me Outside is a national non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness about outdoor learning and advocating for more time spent outside during the school day. Through national campaigns, resources, and events, we aim to connect students and educators with nature in meaningful and impactful ways.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Fund Development Contractor to support and grow Take Me Outside’s funding through grant writing and corporate partnerships. This role will focus on identifying and securing funding that aligns with our mission, values, and strategic priorities. We are less focused on individual donor fundraising and more interested in strategic funding through institutional grants and sponsorship collaborations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research, write, and submit grant proposals to government, foundations, and other funding bodies.
  • Develop and maintain a calendar of funding opportunities and reporting requirements.
  • Build and maintain corporate partnerships, creating sponsorship packages and managing deliverables.
  • Work collaboratively with our team to align funding priorities with programmatic needs.
  • Track fund development efforts and prepare impact reports for stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in grant writing and/or corporate fundraising (non-profit or social impact setting preferred).
  • Strong written communication skills with an ability to tell compelling stories and align with funder priorities.
  • Experience with relationship management, proposal development, and funder reporting.
  • Self-directed, organized, and able to work remotely and independently.
  • Familiarity with outdoor learning, environmental education, or youth programming is an asset.
