We are looking for awesome, self-driven Personal Support Workers to work throughout York Region. Please note, we are only looking to proceed with candidates who have full-time availability and meet the scheduling requirements below.

Scheduling Requirements
  • FT Position available: PSW must be available for 37.5-40 hours of work per week
  • MUST be available for 4 weekday shifts and one consistent weekend shift (can be Saturday OR Sunday)
  • MUST be able to commit to a consistent, ongoing, weekly schedule for the foreseeable future
  • available and willing to see multiple clients for 1-2 hours/each over the course of an 8-12 hour day
  • Flexibility for day, evening, and overnight shifts an asset
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care to clients as outlined in their care plans.
  • Provide companionship and light housekeeping (whatever it takes to help a person stay at home).
  • Prepare meals in accordance to the client and/or the family's request (must be open to preparing different kinds of cuisine).
  • Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs that is within the scope of practice for a Personal Support Worker
  • Assists clients in all activities of daily living/ hygiene assistance, bathing, grooming, linen changes and so forth.
  • Assists clients with transfers, ambulation and exercises.
  • Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly.
  • Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description.
  • Completes records and documentations accurately and thoroughly.
Qualifications and Certifications
  • Current/Valid Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) Registration an asset
  • PSW certification from an approved and recognized educational institution or International nursing/ doctorate Certification
  • Negative TB Test completed within the last year
  • Valid CPR/First Aid Certificate
  • Valid WHMIS2015 Certificate of Completion
  • COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to Ontario’s Human Rights Code
  • Immunization for measles, rubella, varicella, tetanus, and Diphtheria REQUIRED, immunization of Hepatitis B is strongly urged.
  • Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year.
  • Ability to travel between assignments within designated areas of work
  • It is an asset if you have access to and can legally drive your own vehicle
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
  • Requires good judgement, the ability to work independently, and work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team
