Job description
Overview

Shared Health invites applications for a full-time Forensic Pathologist position to fill our labour shortage in Manitoba.

Responsibilities
  • Provide province-wide services for medico-legal autopsies (adult and pediatric) in a medical examiner system, as well as family-consented hospital-based autopsies as required.
  • Participate in departmental academic activities and train pathology residents from the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, and provide instruction to allied health professionals.
  • Access in-house toxicology and histology services; consult with staff from the Pathology Department as needed.
  • Collaborate with neuropathologists, forensic odontologists, and an anthropologist where applicable.
Qualifications
  • Medical degree;
  • Certification in Anatomical or General Pathology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent;
  • Eligible to sit for the Canadian Royal College examination in Forensic Pathology;
  • Eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.
Compensation

Competitive compensation package with annual salary scales of Step 1 - $401,020.36/year, Step 2 - $445,748.16/year; benefits include health and dental; 27 days annual vacation.
