A leading post-production company in Vancouver is seeking a Finishing Editor to manage high resolution video editing and VFX tasks for film and television projects. The role requires strong technical knowledge, proficiency in editing software like DaVinci Resolve, and an ability to maintain excellent customer service in client sessions. Position: Finishing Editor
Location: Vancouver, BC (On Site)
*Pay Range: $30.00 - $45.00 CAD hourly
Company 3 Vancouver provides world class post‑production services for world‑renowned feature films, mini‑series and episodic television productions. We utilize leading‑edge software and hardware solutions that allow our creative staff the ability to enhance our client's vision. Reporting to the Production Operations Manager, the Finishing Editor works closely with the Head of Production and Producers in the needs of the projects at the facility.
The Finishing Editor is responsible for conforming high resolution picture elements per the client provided metadata and reference media for the final edit. Also, responsible for VFX drop‑ins, preparing color timelines, titling, rendering various versions, and mastering final picture — editorial support for the Finishing Colorist, as well as supervised client sessions for QC and VFX reviews. The candidate must have high technical proficiency, able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment, manage time efficiently, work on multiple projects concurrently, and operate with meticulous attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in post‑production as a Finishing Editor. They must have strong technical knowledge of Dailies process/Workflows, and proficiency with digital technology and editing software packages: Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve (preferred), Avid, Flame, Final Cut Pro, and Premiere. They will have experience and design sensibility with building titles & credits, motion graphics, basic VFX, strong interpersonal skills: ability to interface with clients regularly and maintain excellent working relationships, and they must be able to work independently with little supervision. The benefits for eligible part‑time employees working 25 or more hours per week and full‑time employees in the US include a comprehensive package of health, retirement, and insurance benefits and paid time off. The benefits for eligible project hires and part‑time employees working less than 25 hours per week in the US include retirement, select insurance benefits, and where required by law, health benefits.
