Why Join Templeton?

  • Play a key leadership role in building out our finance function.
  • Work closely with senior leadership and influence decisions that shape the company’s future.

About the Role

As Controller, you will lead our accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, you’ll oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and an Accounting Manager—mentoring and guiding the team while driving improvements.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll not only keep the books balanced but also contribute to strategic growth. If you thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, this is your chance to step into a role with both responsibility and influence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with variance analysis.
  • Coordinate year-end processes and liaise with external auditors.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, providing insights to drive efficiency and cost control.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and treasury functions.
  • Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and best practices.
  • Partner with operations to align receivables, payables, and expenditures with budgets.
  • Coach and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional growth.
What We’re Looking For
  • CPA designation (or working toward designation) strongly preferred.
  • 3–5 years in a senior accounting role (Controller, Assistant Controller, or equivalent).
  • Direct experience in property management accounting is required.
  • Strong knowledge of rent rolls, lease administration, tenant billing, and property-level financial reporting.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive salary range: $70,000 – $90,000, based on experience.
  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits.
  • Paid vacation.
  • Free parking.
  • The chance to join a growing company where your ideas and contributions truly matter.

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role and help guide Templeton Properties through its next stage of growth. If you’re looking for more than just a job—and want to make a lasting impact—we’d love to hear from you.
