Job summary

The MD Program trains the next generation of doctors by delivering a comprehensive learning experience to our students. As Financial Aid and Awards Coordinator, you will support our students in the undergraduate medical education (UME) programs in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment. With proven digital fluency, you will draft presentation and educational resources for digital platforms and print materials. You will support our UME grants and award processes and generate statistical reports for committee decisions. Your demonstrated ability to collaborate with partners across the University will be critical to our team's success and fostering an inclusive and welcoming learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Acting as the first point of contact, providing detailed information regarding financial aid applications and awards, and related issues
  • Verifying accuracy of financial aid entitlements, handling fees/fines and issuing receipts
  • Preparing award and nomination letters and drafting presentation materials
  • Maintaining databases, formatting data and generating reports
  • Coordinating event logistics for financial aid and financial award workshops
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum two years related experience in registrarial services in a post-secondary environment
  • Experience with financial awards and financial aid administration
  • Experience drafting presentation materials, letters and correspondence
  • Experience working with and supporting committees and experience coordinating logistics for workshops and events, including implementing videoconferencing technologies
  • Experience maintaining databases and formatting data for presentation and reports
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, survey platforms, content management systems and Zoom
  • Proficiency with student information systems (ROSI), financial information systems (FIS), and learning management systems
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function independently with strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated initiative, to meet external deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to exercise good judgment and discretion
  • Ability to be flexible and to work effectively in a team based environment
  • Ability to identify and succinctly summarize findings for diverse audiences
  • Ability to interact with students, faculty and staff comfortably and professionally with a customer‑service orientation and maintaining confidentiality
Assets (Nonessential):
  • Experience working in a medical academic setting and knowledge of the Temerty Faculty of Medicine
  • Experience working with Qualtrics, Elentra and MedSIS
