Position Overview

As a Field Technician supporting MRR’s growth in Western Canada, you’ll work directly at client sites on public safety and energy infrastructure projects, with extensive travel throughout Alberta and across Canada. You’ll be backed by MRR’s expert engineering and operational teams from multiple locations in Canada and the US, ensuring you have the training, resources, and support needed to succeed in the field.

  • Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on odorization equipment.
  • Safely transfer odorants and assist with odorant spill remediation.
  • Support natural gas pipeline pickling projects.
  • Complete detailed documentation (work orders, Transport Canada logs, reports).
  • Travel to client sites across Western Canada (up to 75% travel).
  • Maintain safety compliance with Transport Canada and Federal OHS regulations.
  • Participate in training for skills development, safety, and career growth.
Minimum Requirements
  • Completion of a post‑secondary technical college program; mechanical or electrical engineering, pipefitting, HVAC, or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand tools.
  • Ability to interpret basic diagrams and schematics (tanks, pumps, valves, etc.).
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors and on your feet.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet for reporting.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Willing to travel extensively.
Why join MRR?
  • Full training in all aspects of odorization – no prior experience needed.
  • Competitive pay and per diem for travel days.
  • Nationwide travel opportunities.
  • Contribute to public safety in the energy sector.
  • Growing company with long‑term career potential.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental & vision plan.
