VIRDEN FAMILY PHYSICIAN

Work Location:On site – Virden Health Centre (480 King Street, Virden, MB R0M 2C0), Sherwood Personal Care Home Services (223 Hargrave St E, Virden, MB R0M 2C0), West-Man Personal Care Home Services (427 Frame St E, Virden, MB R0M 2C0). There is no option to work remotely.

Anticipated Start Date:As soon as possible

Anticipated Shift:Full Time, Days, Early Mornings, Mornings, Evenings, Nights, On Call, Weekends

Daily Hours Worked:Various hour shifts (30 to 40 hours per week)

Position Type:Fee for service

Wage Rate:Compensation is fee-for-service as per the Doctors Manitoba and Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living negotiated rates. Benefits are not provided, but may be purchased if the successful candidate so desired.

Position Summary

Virden Health Centre is a 25 bed acute care facility, Sherwood Personal Care Home is a 46 bed long term care facility, and West-Man Personal Care Home is a 50 bed long term care facility. Services offered include Diagnostic, Emergency, Public Health, Home Care, and Mental Health.

Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a Family Physician to join the Virden Health Centre. Duties to include: performing all duties associated with a family practice, including diagnosing and treating diseases, physiological disorders and injuries of patients, act as the primary care provider and provide continuous care toward the management of patients’ health. The physician will also share in the Emergency Department on call schedule and will cooperate and coordinate coverage with other physician colleagues.

On site:Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Credentials

  • The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine degree
  • Current licensure or eligible for full license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
  • Must be a member of CMPA or provide proof of equivalent malpractice insurance

  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums
  • Good work and attendance record

Security and safety:

• Complete and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate.

• All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with the Prairie Mountain Health policy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
