Position Type:Fee for service or Contract

Wage Rate:Compensation is fee-for-service or Contract as per the Doctors Manitoba and Manitoba Health a Manitoba Health, Seniors and Active Living negotiated rates.

Position Summary

As the second largest city in Manitoba, with a population of 55,000 and growing, Brandon is the main hub and referral site for southwestern Manitoba, with a catchment area of approximately 200,000 people. The Minor Injury & Illness Clinic is a clinic that provides walk‑in and appointment‑based health care for children and adults suffering from non‑life‑threatening illness or injury.

Services may include treatment for minor fractures, sprains and/or splinting, treatment for minor abrasions, cuts and burns, blood tests, urine tests, throat swabs, EKGs and specialist referrals. The clinic will also connect clients to health care providers and services, internal and external to PMH programs (e.g. Social Work, Chronic Disease Education Program, Mental Health, Addictions Services and Therapy Services, etc.).

Credentials:

  • The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine degree
  • Current licensure or eligible for full license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
  • Must be a member of CMPA or provide proof of equivalent malpractice insurance

Additional Information

Security and safety:

  • Complete and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate.
  • All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with the Prairie Mountain Health policy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
