Job summary

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the program manager and working under the clinical direction and in collaboration with the Public Health Nurse, the Family Home Visitor (FHV) provides education and support to families participating in the Healthy Babies Healthy Children program in accordance with the current Healthy Babies Healthy Children Protocols and Guidance Documents as well as families participating in other programs within Healthy Families. The FHV also provides assistance with the delivery of other programs within Health Families as needed and when appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • College diploma or certificate in child development or early child education program, or related field;
  • Previous work experience with home visiting programs or early child development services is considered an asset;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing;
  • Fluency in both official languages is an asset;
  • Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the position;
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel within and outside the health unit catchment area as required;
  • Must have access to a vehicle and a valid Ontario Driver’s license;
  • Satisfactory criminal reference and vulnerable sector check;
  • Required to comply with Immunization policies, including COVID-19 vaccination, unless a valid medical exemption is provided.
