A regional public health organization in Espanola is seeking a Family Home Visitor to assist high-risk families with parenting and resource connections. The role is casual with varied hours, requiring a combination of on-site and remote work, including scheduled home visits. Candidates must have at least two years of post-secondary education in social services or a related field. The position emphasizes compassion, problem-solving, and effective communication skills. Salary ranges from $27.05 to $30.97 per hour.
Family Home Visitor – Casual #25-188 (Job Opportunity). This is a casual position. Work will be offered on a regular weekly basis, but hours are not guaranteed and may vary from week to week.

Location: Espanola Office – 800 Centre Street, Espanola; Manitoulin Island Office – 6163 Highway 542, Mindemoya. The successful candidate can work from one of these two office locations. Regular travel within the agency’s catchment area is required.

Position summary: Reporting to the Program Manager, the Family Home Visitor works with families to build on their strengths, develop their parenting skills, help them connect with resources in the community, and to promote healthy growth and development.
Within the Healthy Babies Healthy Children (HBHC) program, the Family Home Visitor works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team under the guidance of an assigned Public Health Nurse. The HBHC program works with high-risk families during the prenatal period and with children from birth until their transition to school in accordance with Ministry of Children Community and Social Services. The Family Home Visitor may also work collaboratively with other community services as appropriate.
