EXPERIENCE LINE COOK | PART-TIME

Earl Grey is seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our team of professional chefs. As the Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional experiences to our members and guests by preparing, cooking and plating dishes for our restaurant, lounge, banquets, and on-course food outlets.

Who you are

You are an experienced line cook with two to three years of experience. You embody Earl Grey's values of excellence, accountability, respect, and leadership, applying them to every interaction and in all that you do. You are a positive team member who helps in creating a fun, positive, and collaborative environment.

What you’ll do
  • Prepare Ingredients and Workstations
    • Prepare ingredients for the line, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, preparing sauces, and making marinades.
    • Set up and stock the station, ensuring all ingredients and tools are available and organized at the start of each shift.
    • Follow high standards of safe food handling, preparation, hygiene, and sanitation practices that meet or exceed provincial standards and guidelines.
  • Prepare and Plate Menu Items
    • Cook food to order - Prepare dishes quickly and efficiently, using various cooking methods (grilling, frying, sautéing, etc.).
    • Ensure food quality - Monitor food preparation to meet the restaurant's standards for taste, appearance, and consistency.
    • Plate dishes - Arrange menu items attractively on plates according to established guidelines and standards.
  • Complete Cleaning Protocols & Follow Safety Regulations
    • Complete cleaning protocols.
    • Follow all Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
Wage
  • Competitive hourly wage (dependent on experience).
Hours
  • 16-30 hours per week
  • Day / evening shifts
  • Weekdays / weekends
  • Some paid overtime may be required
  • Part-time (with possibility of full-time)
