Job summary

Position Overview

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient‑centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province‑wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Additional responsibilities for the Executive Director – Business Services
  • Develop productive relationships with business leaders across organizations to influence how services can enable new sources of value.
  • Align the provincial shared services service management framework to standardize the use of provincial business systems.
  • Oversee the provincial service desk, account management, and the service support function including incident, problem, configuration, change and release management practices (ITIL).
  • Lead Business Services in the delivery, implementation, ongoing support and adoption, vendor management including supplier engagement and service levels, service level agreements with service delivery partners, and overall operational and staff performance.
Experience
  • 15 years of progressive experience, including:
    • 10 years of senior or executive management experience in business transformation, strategic planning, business services planning, process development and system implementation, and leading the management of business information systems for a large ICT services organization ensuring operational sustainment and service management according ITIL processes and running a 24/7 on‑call support team.
    • 5 years of experience leading a matrixed team to ensure collaboration and effective operations, working in a leadership role managing operational support for business systems, services and technologies including ERP (such as SAP), collaboration technologies, and office productivity technology systems (such as Microsoft Office, Skype, and Adobe productivity, communication and collaboration tools).
    • 5 years of experience applying strong program/project management in leading multiple, large, cross‑functional teams on projects, delivering executive‑level presentations and influencing, leading and managing negotiations with senior‑level management and key internal and external stakeholders.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Post‑secondary or post‑graduate degree in business, computer science or technology from an accredited educational institution; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Vendor certification in system administration and analysis in the organization’s current enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is an asset.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Must have a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle for regular travel within the province.
Qualifications And Skills
  • Demonstrated comprehensive senior leadership capabilities. Shared Health has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment, be available for regular travel within the province, and lift and move items of up to approximately 25 pounds.
