Job summary

A regional employment advocacy organization is looking for an Executive Director to lead its operations in Dryden, Ontario. Job Opportunity: Executive Director

The Dryden District Chamber of Commerce is seeking a highly capable and committed Executive Director to lead and grow our organization. This is a senior leadership role for a professional who brings focus, goal orientated follow-through, and a genuine passion for supporting local business.

About the Role

Being a non-profit organization, the Executive Director works closely with our membership of approx. 115+ members to advocate concerns, promote and grow the value of membership, build business connections, fundraising, and grant writing. While working with a board of directors you will be responsible for implementing the strategic plan, annual operating budget, planning and running events, basic marketing, hosting meetings, while maintaining day-to-day operations. You will work with our bookkeeper for monthly reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the Chamber publicly and advocate for business
  • Grow and engage membership through proactive recruitment and retention strategies
  • Generate non-dues revenue
  • Plan, manage, and execute events, programs, and marketing initiatives
  • Oversee financial operations, budgeting, grant applications, and work closely with the bookkeeper on monthly reporting
  • Support staff, sub committees and volunteers as needed
  • Report regularly to the Board of Directors and monthly board of directors meetings.
  • Stay informed on legislative, economic, and industry trends impacting local businesses
  • Maintain social media posts and keep website current
Qualifications
  • Experience in a non-profit or membership-based organization, an asset
  • Previous experience as Executive Director or business management, marketing manager and/ or sales manager.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and close sales
  • Proven understanding of how to work with a board, annual budget and Strat plan.
  • Experience with Canva or similar program to create marketing branded items
  • Experienced with Constant Contact, an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn accounting software
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Hold a valid Class G driver’s license, with own vehicle for use & proof of insurance.
Additional Details

Position Type: On-site, leadership role

Hours: 30 hours per week (Monday–Thursday), with occasional pre-planned evening or weekend commitments.

Location: 61 King Street, Dryden, ON

Compensation: $30.00 per hour with 3 weeks paid vacation
