Murphy’s Pharmacies is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Executive Assistant and Communications Lead to support our team during an exciting period of growth, transformation, and technological advancement. Located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, this position offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to strategic initiatives by providing professional support to the company’s Executive and coordinating the company’s internal and external communications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain executive calendars, including scheduling meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements
  • Screen and prioritize incoming communications (emails, calls)
  • Draft high-quality reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate meeting logistics, including agendas, minutes and follow-ups
  • Serve as a liaison between the Executive and internal/external stakeholders
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion
  • Facilitate the execution of corporate documents
  • Conduct research and compile data to support executive decision-making
  • Manage key internal communications channels – including intranet, newsletters, leadership updates, and town halls – to deliver timely, consistent, and impactful messaging
  • Oversee all external communications efforts, including public & media relations, reputation and issues management
  • Contribute to the company’s storytelling – such as social copy, internal messaging and thought leadership pieces for various audiences
  • Provide occasional assistance with personal tasks and errands, as needed
  • Ad hoc projects like posting an ad for an Executive Assistant!
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an Executive Assistant or in a similar senior administrative capacity
  • Experience in corporate internal and external communications
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, ability to work with minimal supervision, self-starter and resourceful
  • High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities with professionalism and poise
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
Considered an Asset
  • Experience in the Healthcare sector
  • Familiarity with dealing with government institutions
  • Completed undergraduate or advanced college diploma in journalism, communications or public relations, or any other equivalent experience
