The City of Delta’s Engineering Operations Department provides essential services to the three communities: Ladner, North Delta, and Tsawwassen. We are seeking reliable, self-motivated, safety conscious individuals to join our Roads team in temporary full-time seasonal positions.
These positions support both Roads Maintenance and Roads Traffic / Right-of-Way Operations, depending on operational needs. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Work involves performing duties safely in all weather conditions and in and around active roadways, as well as interacting with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence with a safe driving record is required, along with familiarity with driving pickup trucks or larger vehicles. Applicants must submit a current Driver’s Record (five-year history) with their application. Applications submitted without a Driver’s Record will be deemed incomplete and will not be considered. Preference may be given to candidates who have completed training or courses related to public works. Successful candidates will be selected based on experience and skills related to the position.
The City of Delta provides a competitive salary of $32.93 to $34.04 (2024 Rate), depending on the position awarded. Temporary full-time employees become eligible for extended health, dental, and life insurance coverage after six months of continuous employment.
