Overview
As an Employee Success Manager, you'll be a dedicated people advocate for our developer teams. Your core mission is to champion the professional growth and well-being of our team members. You will be a central point of contact for our developers, ensuring they have the support, resources, and career guidance needed to succeed. This includes overseeing performance management and employee relations for the team. This role is based out of our office in Bedford, NS.
What You’ll Do
- Be a Partner to Our Developers: Act as the first point of contact for our developer team, providing confidential support and guidance on concerns and career goals. Facilitate open communication between developers and management, help to mediate potential issues, and conduct regular one-on-one check-ins to build trust. Manage and oversee employee relations, including addressing internal disputes, handling PTO requests, and ensuring consistent application of company policies.
- Drive Performance and Development: Collaborate with team leads to gather comprehensive performance feedback, ensuring a holistic understanding of each developer’s work. Help manage and refine the performance review process to be valuable and transparent. Partner with developers to create personalized career development plans and identify opportunities for skill enhancement.
- Champion Learning and Growth: Identify skill gaps and learning needs across the team based on performance data and employee feedback. Curate and implement learning initiatives, such as workshops, certifications, and mentorship programs, to support continuous growth of our technical talent.
- Provide Strategic People Insights: Analyze employee morale and engagement, and provide management with actionable insights on retention trends. Help develop and implement initiatives that contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment and partner with HR to ensure people practices are fair and consistent.
Requirements
What You’ll Bring
- Experience: 5+ years experience leading and mentoring people, with a focus on fostering professional growth. Deep understanding of employee relations and performance management, with a track record of coaching and guiding teams to success. Direct experience in a fast-paced technology or project-based environment. Experience implementing HR programs, engagement initiatives, or learning and development strategies. Strong working knowledge of Canadian employment legislation, HR best practices, and HRIS systems (e.g., BambooHR, Small Improvements).
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration/Management, Organizational/Behavioral Psychology, or a related field.
- Skills: Excellent communication, active listening, conflict-resolution skills, ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights.
- Passion: Genuine passion for employee well-being and a track record of building trust with a diverse group of individuals.
