Responsibilities

Reporting to the General Manager, Development + Emergency Services, the Manager, Emergency Services is responsible for the administration and management of the emergency services program, including mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery activities for the RDN. Additional areas of responsibility include the management of the 911 services and all Community Safety contribution services. This position plays an integral function to the delivery of the RDN’s emergency services and community engagement.

Qualifications

• A degree in emergency management, public or business administration (or related field), with at least six years of local government experience and three years in a supervisory role. They will have hands-on expertise in emergency programs and Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) management, and strong knowledge of provincial legislation, including the BC Emergency Disaster and Management Act and related regulations. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. A Criminal Record Check is required.
