This position reports to: Superviseur, Groupe électronique

ABB’s Process Automation business area enables customers to operate some of the world’s largest and most complex industrial infrastructures, helping them outrun – leaner and cleaner.

We offer a broad range of automation, electrification, and digital solutions for process, hybrid, and maritime industries, including industry-specific integrated control and software, measurement, analytics solutions, and services.

Your Role: Own the Challenge

  1. Design and develop electronic circuits, including digital and analog modeling and simulation.
  2. Select electronic components.
  3. Design embedded software (microcontroller, FPGA) and test software.
  4. Contribute to design documentation, technical budgets, testing, and commissioning documentation.
  5. Participate in commissioning and testing electronic boards.
  6. Engage in multidisciplinary design reviews and present project progress.
  7. Collaborate in project planning and estimation tasks.

What it takes to Run what runs the world

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, or a college diploma (DEC) in Programmable Electronics and Robotics (TSO), with at least 10 years of experience in electronic engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of VHDL/Verilog programming and proficiency in C/C++ for microcontrollers.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of electronic circuits; skilled in prototyping and commissioning electronic boards.
  • Knowledge of software such as Altium Designer, Pspice, Matlab, Python is an asset; fluency in French and English, spoken and written. French is required; English is also required for communication with outside Quebec customers.
