What will you do?

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Electrical Power Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a Red Seal Certification and preferably possess an FSR A (Field Safety Representative) ticket. This role involves the inspection, testing, servicing, and maintenance of electrical systems and components ranging from 240V to 49.9KV, with a strong focus on breakers, switchgears, busway, and electrical distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical power systems and components.
  • Service and troubleshoot breakers (120V to 600V), switchgear, switchboards, busduct, and distribution panels.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and service electrical distribution systems, including bus upgrades and transformer service.
  • Interpret short circuits, coordination, and arc flash studies.
  • Implement coordination study requirements.
  • Program and configure breakers and protective relays.
  • Work with medium voltage systems and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment serviced.
  • Collaborate with engineering and safety teams to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Adhere to all applicable codes, standards, and safety procedures.
What will you need to succeed?
  • Red Seal Certification in Electrical.
  • FSR A Ticket preferred FSR B required. Training can be arranged.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical power systems, particularly in breaker and transformer servicing.
  • Proficient in using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as required.
  • Must be available to travel within Canada
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in industrial or commercial electrical environments.
  • Familiarity with low and medium voltage systems, VFDs, and relay programming.
