Job description

Suspended Stages Inc. is a specialized provider of fall protection systems, swing stage equipment rentals, inspections, and training across BC. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrical Mechanic to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical repairs and maintenance, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about working with electrical drive motors, gearbox systems, and hoists, and who is looking to grow their career in a supportive and expanding company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, dismantle, maintain, and troubleshoot machinery using hand and power tools.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues on gearbox, electrical drive motors, and cable hoists.
  • Inspect and test machine parts, ensuring compliance with quality control standards.
  • Detect and repair equipment discrepancies, defects, and failures.
  • Assist with and perform tasks related to the preventive maintenance program.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed.
  • Support continuous improvement and collaborate with the operations team.
Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience as an Electrical Mechanic (experience with gearbox motors, hoist systems, or heavy equipment is an asset).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety and quality.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and motivation to build a long-term career.
  • In-house training provided.
