About the Employer: A leading integrated development, design, and construction firm operating in Western Canada. The company emphasizes innovation, inclusion, and sustainability, with a focus on collaboration and delivering high-quality building projects across various sectors including industrial, institutional, commercial, retail, and residential.

Role Overview: The Electrical Designer will be responsible for conceptual and detailed design of building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, life safety, and communication systems for large and complex projects. The role involves coordinating design work with internal teams and construction managers and may require acting as Engineer of Record.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and supervise electrical building systems
  • Coordinate design, drawings, and specifications with project teams
  • Conduct field reviews and building condition assessments
  • Manage contractual and professional liabilities
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers and designers
  • Prepare technical reports and support project closeout activities
  • Perform other related duties as needed
Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years engineering experience in multi-disciplinary settings (3 years in North America)
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation preferred
  • Experience with Institutional, Industrial, Residential, Retail, and Commercial projects
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant electrical and building codes and regulations
  • Experience managing BIM/Revit modeling processes
  • Proven expertise in power distribution, lighting, and life safety systems design
  • Familiarity with sustainable and environmental design principles
