Overview

The Global EHS Audit Director is responsible for the strategic direction and execution of the Global EHS Audit and Governance process. This involves the oversight of the Global EHS Management System (GEHSMS) which includes the Standards, Implementation Guides, and Audit Protocol, as well as the audit process for all PepsiCo owned locations, including Manufacturing and Non‑Manufacturing. This involves both internal and external audits, which requires strong leadership, influencing and collaboration skills across the Regions and multiple stakeholders and external partnerships with auditing and certification bodies, such as ISO. This role is responsible for driving the strategic implementation of GEHSMS core standards, including risk management, training programs and the full cultural model deployment. In addition, this role will oversee individuals who will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Global EHS financial budget, overseeing the paying of invoices in a timely manner, creating communications materials for Global EHS, planning large, Global EHS events, and maintaining Global EHS websites.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of the Global EHS auditing strategy, ensuring appropriate Region level resource allocation is applied and develop execution tactics for ensuring our ‘License to Operate’ is secured in addition to our injury reduction and WWP targets are met, through the implementation and auditing of Global EHS risk control standards.
  • Responsible for the design and content of the PepsiCo EHS Standards which are the primary means through which standardized risk controls are deployed globally. Ensure these standards are appropriate to the level and scope of the PepsiCo risk profile and change manage any modifications to the standards to ensure appropriate understanding across PepsiCo’s operations.
  • Lead development and adoption of a Global auditing capability development strategy, ensuring sufficient competency to allow for the effective use of all global operations and to ensure EHS auditors can validate the effectiveness of operational risks controls in both manufacturing and selling operations.
  • Manage the Global EHS Budget and execute the Global EHS Audit Budget to ensure that vendor partnerships and audit program execution is effective and complete.
  • Serve as Global EHS PepsiCo Auditor for a percentage of locations that are sampled in the current year. Work cross‑functionally with the Global EHS COE Team to evaluate and align key risk areas to focus on to reduce EHS risk profile across PepsiCo and enable training to support these key risk areas.
Compensation & Benefits
  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $125,900 - $249,900.
  • Location, confirmed job‑related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 25% of annual salary paid out annually and an additional target payout of 10% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period.
  • Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications
  • 15+ years’ experience of leading EHS governance or risk management
  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS Management or related field
  • CSP, CHMM, PE or similar EHS certification (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to 1) create agile strategic frameworks in a highly technical and complex area 2) think strategically across a multitude of country regulatory bodies and 3) create long‑term strategies that will enable risk management and reduction across all of PepsiCo’s Book of Businesses and locations
  • Deep expertise and experience in EHS auditing in manufacturing and sales
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience auditing internal management systems and/or ISO
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills at all levels
  • Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to support a result‑driven environment
  • Demonstrate professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, including presentations, meetings and training environments
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work across different businesses globally
  • Ability to work with other cultures and time zones virtually
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, global, virtual environment with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel internationally and domestically (estimated up to 50%)
