Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service:
- Greet and interact with customers in a friendly, welcoming, and professional manner.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, and provide recommendations when necessary.
- Ensure that customers have a positive experience by responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and providing timely assistance.
- Handle customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
2. Food Preparation:
- Assist in preparing food items such as pizza, pasta, salads, and other menu items according to Sbarro’s quality standards.
- Ensure proper portion control and food presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in food prep areas to ensure food safety standards are met.
- Follow all food safety procedures, including sanitation practices, proper handling of ingredients, and cleanliness of workstations.
3. Order Fulfillment:
- Assemble and package food orders accurately and efficiently for dine-in, take-out, or delivery.
- Ensure orders are completed in a timely manner, paying attention to accuracy and quality.
- Assist in delivering food to customers’ tables (if applicable) or to designated pickup areas.
4. Restaurant Cleanliness:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, kitchen, and restroom facilities.
- Regularly clean countertops, tables, floors, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Assist in the general upkeep of the restaurant, including trash removal and replenishing supplies as needed.
5. Cash Handling and Register Operations:
- Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately.
- Process credit card payments and provide change when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized cash register area.
6. Team Collaboration:
- Work effectively with other team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
- Assist with training new employees as needed.
- Be willing to take on additional tasks, such as restocking supplies or assisting with opening or closing duties.
7. Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to management.
Qualifications:
- Experience: No prior experience required; however, any experience in the foodservice or customer service industry is a plus.
- Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and ability to multitask. Basic math skills for handling transactions. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and cleanliness.
