Job description

Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service:
  1. Greet and interact with customers in a friendly, welcoming, and professional manner.
  2. Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, and provide recommendations when necessary.
  3. Ensure that customers have a positive experience by responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and providing timely assistance.
  4. Handle customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
2. Food Preparation:
  1. Assist in preparing food items such as pizza, pasta, salads, and other menu items according to Sbarro’s quality standards.
  2. Ensure proper portion control and food presentation.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and organization in food prep areas to ensure food safety standards are met.
  4. Follow all food safety procedures, including sanitation practices, proper handling of ingredients, and cleanliness of workstations.
3. Order Fulfillment:
  1. Assemble and package food orders accurately and efficiently for dine-in, take-out, or delivery.
  2. Ensure orders are completed in a timely manner, paying attention to accuracy and quality.
  3. Assist in delivering food to customers’ tables (if applicable) or to designated pickup areas.
4. Restaurant Cleanliness:
  1. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, kitchen, and restroom facilities.
  2. Regularly clean countertops, tables, floors, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
  3. Assist in the general upkeep of the restaurant, including trash removal and replenishing supplies as needed.
5. Cash Handling and Register Operations:
  1. Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately.
  2. Process credit card payments and provide change when necessary.
  3. Maintain a clean and organized cash register area.
6. Team Collaboration:
  1. Work effectively with other team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
  2. Assist with training new employees as needed.
  3. Be willing to take on additional tasks, such as restocking supplies or assisting with opening or closing duties.
7. Safety and Compliance:
  1. Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  2. Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
  3. Report any maintenance or safety issues to management.
Qualifications:
  1. Experience: No prior experience required; however, any experience in the foodservice or customer service industry is a plus.
  2. Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and ability to multitask. Basic math skills for handling transactions. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  3. Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
  4. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and cleanliness.
