Driver Trainer (Full Time) - Delta, BC (Starting salary - $76,000.00 Yearly)
Primary Purpose:

The Regional Driver Trainers (RDTs) will oversee training and compliance for the fleet operations of Linde Canada Packaged Gases, including, but not limited to, providing support for training, SOP implementation, managing and reporting safety KPIs, and the development of personnel in the field distribution and fleet operations.

The RDTs will be responsible for supporting multiple locations and traveling will be necessary to ensure adequate face time with drivers.

Key Accountabilities
  • Offer instructor‑led training on key distribution training modules.
  • Sign off on driver certification before the driver can commence solo duties; verify that all relevant driver training is completed and documented.
  • Responsible for coordinating and ensuring that all ongoing distribution‑related training is complete and current for fleet operations drivers.
  • Maintain the distribution portal to support locations with readily accessible materials as it relates to distribution policies and training.
  • Work with subject matter experts to champion, improve and implement training materials.
  • Responsible for championing / implementing distribution safety KPIs.
  • Accountable oversight on critical event reporting to monitor and coach driver behavior.
  • Communicate with the business(es) specific customer requirements eg. Training requirements for Linde and contract drivers going onto the customer sites.
  • Review and support compliance with Electronic Logging Device to ensure driver compliance and manage notifications and violations.
  • Conduct SOPs and JSOs to document employee knowledge and compliance with company policies.
  • Support accident / incident investigations and internal / external audits.
  • Conduct safety meetings with all commercial drivers.
  • Conduct internal and external safety assessments, including at customer sites and those related to common and contract carriers.
  • Accountable for internal, national, and provincial compliance & reduced exposure to vehicle accidents, and injuries.
Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of secondary school required.
  • 5+ consecutive years of Class 3 or Class 1 experience preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong safety culture.
  • Knowledge on equipment.
  • Knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Ability to be flexible, and interface professionally.
  • Demonstrate outstanding instructional and mentoring skills with a friendly attitude.
  • Ability to accurately maintain and organize documentation digitized and hard copy.
  • Experience in Compressed Gases and/or Cryogenic Liquid Business preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage your region through communications with management at multiple locations on behalf of the DT program.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
Working Environment:
  • Travelling, from 40% to 70% of the time within your assigned region.
