Job description
Overview

Pursuit Collection is seeking a Driver Guide for Jasper, AB. This seasonal, full-time role provides Class 2 MELT training to obtain your Class 2 driver’s license and Q (Air brakes) license. Training is completed over a 3-week period in Banff, after which you will receive on-site operational training before driving with passengers. As a Driver Guide, you will safely operate coach buses and Ice Explorer vehicles and deliver high-quality interpretive tour content for guests from around the world.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality interpretive tour experiences around the Columbia Icefield and Athabasca Glacier.
  • Coordinate guests and tour groups on/off Coaches and Ice Explorers.
  • Survey guests and perform mechanical pre-trip/post-trip checks on assigned Coaches or Ice Explorers.
  • Safely operate, care for, and maintain your daily assigned Coach or Ice Explorer; perform daily interior/exterior cleaning and routine exterior cleaning as required.
  • Ensure windows are clear and clean, avoid physical and mechanical damage to equipment, and ensure passengers are properly seated and at the coach entrance during loading/unloading.
  • Load/unload passengers safely and assist with tour departures and arrivals; participate in rotating cleaning schedules of Transfer Bay areas and washrooms.
  • Support colleagues and loading staff with interpretive information and manage tour groups.
  • Communicate observations to co-workers and management in a timely manner; uphold environmental stewardship.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills; customer-focused with a passion for guest experience.
  • Commitment to safe, reliable, and courteous operation during Class 2 licensing and while driving.
  • Ability to drive responsibly and adapt to road and weather conditions; guest service oriented; positive problem-solving attitude.
  • Second language is an asset; fluent English; able to communicate and comprehend over two-way radio.
  • Physical ability to perform manual duties (bend, stoop, squat, reach) and to work outdoors in varying mountain weather.
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods; ability to work outdoors in snow, rain, wind, hail; grooming and appearance standards.
  • Consent to a criminal record check; Standard First Aid or higher an asset.
  • Maturity, energy, dependability, self-motivation; team player in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Starting salary: $20.50 per hour.
  • Housing and meals: $19 per day (based on double occupancy).

Training, Schedule & Location

The Class 2 licensing process is supported by MELT training. The position begins with a three-week training period in Banff, followed by on-site operational training. The role is part of our Spring/Summer 2025 seasonal hiring.
