What You Can Expect

This role will be responsible for leadership of Distribution Team Members within the Receiving team at the Zimmer Biomet Canada warehouse. Collaborates with Customer Service, Asset Management and Supply Chain to ensure timely and efficient processing of Inbound/Outbound/Inventoried product to and from distribution facilities. Responsible for ensuring the conduct of safe, effective and compliant distribution practices including comprehensive oversight of team members in the accurate performance of a variety of tasks to include Receiving and Put-Away.

This position is on-site 5 days per week, Monday - Friday 8-5pm. Overtime and weekends may be required based on business needs.

How You\'ll Create Impact
  • Team management: supervises and coordinates the activities of the receiving team, assigning tasks and providing guidance to new and existing staff.
  • Receiving shipments: oversees the receipt of goods and materials from suppliers ensuring that shipments are accurately received.
  • Inspection and quality control: verifies the accuracy of received shipments, identifying damages, discrepancies, or shortages.
  • Documentation and record keeping: maintains accurate records of received goods using inventory management systems.
  • Coordination and communication: collaborates with warehouse, inventory, and procurement teams to ensure smooth logistics flow.
  • Safety and compliance: ensures all receiving procedures adhere to safety standards and company policies.
  • Stock placement and storage: supervises the proper placement of received items in designated storage areas.
  • Continuous improvement: monitors processes and identifies areas for efficiency improvements, recommending and implementing new procedures or technology to streamline receiving operations.
  • Reporting and administration: prepares and submits daily, weekly, or monthly reports on receiving activities.
  • Problem resolution: addresses and resolves any issues related to receiving discrepancies, damages, or delays, escalating unresolved problems to management when necessary.

Your Background
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required plus 5+ years of experience in a distribution warehouse environment
  • 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience required; 3+ years preferred
  • Experience in any of the receiving/stocking/picking/shipping functions of a distribution function required
  • Relevant experience preferred with:
    • EWM management systems, SAP EWM
    • Radio frequency (RF) scanning equipment
    • Inventory management practices
    • Microsoft Suite, specifically MS Excel
    • Operation of a narrow aisle reach truck
