Important information: The Milton Cook Chill (CCFPC) is a HACCP Certified Food Production Center producing meals daily. Tasks include food preparation, assembling hot & cold food items, and cleaning. Our facility may be located within Maplehurst Correctional Facility grounds but Cook Chill is an independent production facility separate from Maplehurst Corrections. Our facility has NO inmates on site and associates have NO interaction or access to inmates; the facility is for Compass associates and food preparation only.

Job Summary

How you will make an impact: You will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, glassware, pots, pans, trays, and utensils, and for maintaining an orderly and sanitary kitchen, work areas, and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize all dishes, glassware, pots, pans, trays, and utensils following procedures and equipment guidelines
  • Polish silver using specified processes and equipment
  • Maintain the dish and kitchen area; ensure equipment is clean, in working condition, and compliant with safety standards
  • Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food prep surfaces
  • Remove trash and dispose of it in designated containers; steam clean or hose out garbage cans
  • Assist in loading, unloading, and transferring supplies, products, and equipment between storage and work areas
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned
About You / Qualifications
  • You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous dishwashing experience is preferred but not required
  • Hands-on experience with industrial washing machines is preferred
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Physical ability to perform duties of the position
