Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

As Director, Product (Value Add Services) within the Small to Medium Business (SMB) portfolio, you will lead a team of Product Managers, who are accountable for the product life cycle management of varying solutions within the portfolio. You will work with a cross‑functional team to shape the way Moneris meets the needs of our current and future merchants and partners. You will maintain an eye on enhancing our competitive position in the rapidly changing Payments industry, bringing proven technical and merchant‑facing product management skills to the table.

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office, balancing in‑office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Vice President, Product – Small to Medium Business (SMB).

Your Moneris Career – What you’ll do
  • Iterate and implement the portfolio strategy across products and markets, ensuring a meaningful product roadmap

  • Manage the product life cycle for new and in‑market products from ideation to development and through launch

  • Guide product packaging, pricing, and positioning, and support sales initiatives to increase market reach

  • Lead a team of product managers, agile teams, and developers, providing support to help them achieve their mandate and goals

  • Promote dialogue between counterparts in Product, Marketing, and Sales and collaborate with Technology, Compliance and Legal to achieve portfolio goals in a timely manner

  • Work together with Partnership, Business Development and Corporate Development teams on evaluating new ideas, products and solutions available in the market

  • Drive excellence in customer experience/satisfaction and lead the practice of measuring the success of products in the assigned portfolio. You will maintain visibility to project scopes, schedules, and cost implications associated with new products or releases and resolve roadblocks affecting the delivery of solutions.

  • Responsible for aggregate Product profit and loss (P & L), and Objective & Key Results (OKRs) in the portfolio

  • Foster and lead an environment advocating and driving professional and personal growth and development of all team members, and guide them in achieving their career potential

  • Develop and manage the department’s annual business plans to support the annual, mid‑ and long‑term business plan

Your Moneris Career – What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree considered an asset.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience working in a product management position.

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership and people management. Proficient in engaging/influencing audiences, passion and ability to motivate others, building relationships, to achieve broader organizational goals.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and best practices and the ability to learn/use applicable tools and processes.

  • Expertise in strategic planning, project management, portfolio management, change management, governance, and compliance.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present technical and end‑user experience perspective to senior management. You will need to explain your proposals to persuade senior management of their value and convince them to invest in and champion them for you. As well, as communicate across all levels in the organization.

  • Experience and application of both theoretical and practical aspects of product management, including multiple product management tools, processes, and techniques.

  • Experience with project processes, Scrum framework, managing budgets, financial analysis, maintaining external and internal relationships, and negotiation.

  • Seasoned leader with experience leading teams to high performance. Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to guide teams through change including daily challenges.

  • Proficiency in payment systems and the merchant acquiring business is an asset.
