Our client, a PE backed service company, has a dynamic Director of Finance opportunity for a CPA with minimum 7-10+ years’ experience. Our client has experienced significant growth across the Canadian market over the past few years and is backed by one of the largest PE funds in the world! This role also reports directly to the CFO!

Overview

Our client, a PE backed service company, has a dynamic Director of Finance opportunity for a CPA with minimum 7-10+ years’ experience. Our client has experienced significant growth across the Canadian market over the past few years and is backed by one of the largest PE funds in the world! This role also reports directly to the CFO!

Requirements

• Excellent knowledge of ASPE and IFRS.
• Proven experience leading and owning an effective month-end accounting close, as well as running an efficient year-end audit process.
• Proven experience identifying accounting policy and / or internal control deficiencies and developing (and implementing) appropriate solutions.
• Fully own the integrity of financial data while delivering accurate financial information to management.
• Someone who can lead process improvements and streamline the consolidation and external reporting processes while improving information quality.
• Previous experience completing the consolidation and compilation of financial statements, management discussion and analysis (MD&A) and footnote disclosures.
• Excellent skills working with accounting, reporting, KPIs and data analytics software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required.
• Previous experience leading a team, and well-honed project management skills.
• Exemplary communication, presentation skills with a positive can-do attitude. Confident, articulate, and reliable with great emotional maturity.
• Ability to quickly evaluate key risks, opportunities, and problem-solve, with an inherent critical thinking mindset.

Nice-to-haves

• Data analytic skills such as PowerBI, dashboarding, and KPI creation are all assets.
• Direct experience in an accounting environment that utilized Percentage of Completion revenue recognition (including appropriate WIP accounts) is an asset.
• Experience with M&A acquisition accounting (purchase price accounting) is an asset.
