Overview

Position Description About the Opportunity God, in his goodness and faithfulness, is moving mightily in Tillsonburg, and by his grace, He is causing our congregation to grow, including bringing many families, children, and youth to North Broadway. We are seeking to add to our staff team a Director of Children and Youth Ministries who will help to lead and grow already established ministries. This role will be responsible for leading ministries that support our families in the evangelism and discipleship of their children and youth. Job Title: Director of Children and Youth Ministries.

Reports to : Lead Pastor

Work Schedule : Full-Time Permanent, 40 Hours Per Week Split Equally Between Youth & Kids Ministry

Primary Requirements

• Education & Experience: An undergraduate degree from a Bible college or seminary is preferred, but not required
• Past experience working with children and/or youth is required
• Past experience managing and leading is preferred

Responsibilities

• Children’s Ministry (Age 0 – Grade 5) & Youth Ministry (Grade 6-12): Provide leadership to our Kids Ministry Program & our Youth Ministry Program (Exodus 18:13-27, Mark 10:42-45)
• Work with the leadership to create a comprehensive discipleship pathway from Nursery through Grade 12 (Colossians 1:28, Deuteronomy 6:4-9)
• Identify, train, equip, and oversee volunteers to do the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11-13)
• Pray for children, youth, parents, and the church (Philippians 1:3-11, Ephesians 3:14-21, John 6:44)
• Help disciple and equip parents to bring their children and youth up in the knowledge and discipline of the Lord (Ephesians 6:1-4)
• Teach both children, youth, and parents God’s Word (Colossians 1:28, 1 Corinthians 1:23, Acts 20:27, Titus 1:9)
• Equip volunteers and structure ministries to evangelize to children both inside (e.g., intentional curriculum) and outside (e.g., Kids Bible Camp) of the church (Mark 16:15)
• Communicate clearly and effectively with parents, volunteers, and children, including the effective administration of ministries and building strong relationships (Titus 1:5)
• Engage children and youth with opportunities to serve in and outside the church (Galatians 5:13)
• Work to maintain unity and grow multi-generational relationships within the church (Titus 2)
• Oversee our Child & Youth Protection program, leading annual training sessions, managing the collection of criminal record checks, and evaluating the program to ensure it is meeting our needs (Psalm 82:3-4)
• Take on additional responsibilities and/or collaborate with the staff on larger projects (e.g., conferences) in consultation with the Church Leadership as you become settled in your role (Philippians 1:27)
• Attend staff meetings and work as part of the staff team
• Participate in weekly morning prayer meeting
• Work under the leadership of the Lead Pastor and Elders
• Participate in the life of the church, growing in relationship with the congregation
