Job Description
What is the opportunity?

Corporate Real Estate (CRE) is responsible to manage end-to-end process of planning, development, and delivery of initiatives across Canadian Region from inception and development of strategy, approval of design & planning, transactions, project delivery and integration with end-user workplace experience.

The role will have direct oversight and management of service partners and suppliers to ensure program success and that controls are in place to manage risk for RBC and serve as key interface between key business unit leads and Corporate Real Estate (CRE) Centres Of Excellence (COEs) ensuring business requirements are anticipated and represented in development of regional strategies & in execution of key programs and related projects.

The role will ensure governance throughout program delivery aligns with RBC framework and the project/program remains within approved Scope, Schedule and Budget and support the CRE portfolio objectives of enabling the core business, managing costs, and mitigating risks.

What will you do?
Strategic
  • Strive to maximize space utilization and flexibility, minimize costs, support brand awareness, contribute to innovative solutions and superior client service and experience
  • Manage & optimize Canadian portfolio based on lease events, market opportunities and business requirements
Planning
  • Provide real estate expertise, strategy and direction on all major property initiatives in Canadian Region
  • Influence and align the organization to optimize the benefits and reduce the risks to be derived from operating in real estate office properties in Canadian Region
Transactions
  • Support businesses in securing or renewing leases and property agreements leveraging the Transaction COE
Program/Project Delivery
  • Accountable for the delivery of major/strategic RBC CRE program initiatives in Canadian Region
  • Establish and monitor quantitative standards of performance, and provide timely project, program executive summaries, as well as appropriate internal management reporting, metrics and key information
  • Develop business cases and prepare Project Charters and PAR documents to support initiative spending
Operations
  • Delivery and oversight of major/strategic projects and initiatives ensuring that quality, delivery, process requirements, deliverable timelines and value-added services are incorporated and strategic objectives are delivered while adhering to approved funding
  • Establish cross-platform collaboration for major projects and strategic initiatives, thereby ensuring maximum benefit to RBC, and cross-platform alignment with respect to CRE standards and practices.
Risk
  • Review and maintain Canadian portfolio to minimize risk exposure to RBC
  • Provide governance, management oversight and reporting in relation to delivery of initiatives
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Strong leadership
  • 7 -10 years of experience in Corporate Real Estate with at least 5 years in large scale program and project management
  • Proven knowledge of all aspects of program and project management processes including estimating, tendering, scheduling, interpreting design drawings, construction practices, value engineering, alternative procurement methods
  • Strong strategic and financial business acumen
  • Strong client focus and responsive to business goals
  • Exceptional client relationship, client management, and consultation skills required
Nice-to-have
  • Well established in building, developing and leading teams of professionals
  • Experience in managing outsourced vendor relationships
  • Ability to forecast and prepare budgets, Impact & influence in global, matrixed organizations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, Strong organizational and presentation skills
