The Position

This position will transition from Director, In-Training to the full working level of the Director of Well-Being Services due to the backfilling of a retirement. Both employees will work side-by-side in performance of the role, while in the transitionary period. During the transitionary period, the Director In-Training will be supervised by the existing Director of Well-Being Services.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Director, of Well-being, is responsible for the overall management, development, and implementation of second-level child and family advisory, protection, and training programs and services. The position will support the Tribal Council’s member First Nations by providing advocacy and support services, prevention services, and programming to assist in the well-being of our families. The role will provide expert specialized advice to STC and various stakeholders. The position is accountable for the sound financial management of the Well-being department along with the monitoring of best practices from Saskatchewan and other jurisdictions to help communities achieve the devolution of culturally sensitive child and family services and supports. As part of the senior management team, the position will actively participate in the overall strategic plan and develop strategies that achieve the goals and priorities established by the Board of Directors. Provides direction and leadership to a large team of community-focused child and family services staff to ensure the highest quality of care and outcomes for the STC communities and child and family services.
