Qualifications

The Vancouver Office of a well established, full service consulting firm presently has a career opportunity.

The Role

The Director, Group Benefits will be an integral member of the Firm’s Senior Leadership Team (“SLT”). The major responsibilities of the position include:

  • Participating as a member of the SLT in reviewing and determining the Firm’s service offerings to meet the evolving benefit plan needs of clients;
  • Overseeing and directly participating in the provision of full cycle benefits consulting services to clients, from development of the strategic direction, to plan design, funding, provider procurement, administration and communication;
  • Providing training, mentoring and work direction to consultants/analysts;
  • Participating as a SLT member in the provision of professional benefits advice to Boards of Directors, other governance authorities and the members of Senior Management within client organizations;
  • Marketing the Firm’s services to existing and prospective clients;
  • Overseeing a block of clients and ensuring that the Firm’s quality assurance standards are met, along with the budget and timeline commitments; and
  • Developing and maintaining harmonious and constructive relationships with clients and benefit providers.
Total Rewards Offering

Salary of $140,000 to $180,000, plus annual performance bonus.

Requirements

The desired candidate qualifications for the Director, Group Benefits position include:

  • A post-secondary degree, preferably coupled with a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation;
  • A minimum of 10 years related group benefits experience, preferably in a group benefits consulting firm;
  • A record of progressive career advancement, including the provision of mentorship and direction to group benefits staff;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to develop benefit plans solutions which are aligned with clients’ total rewards philosophies and their evolving benefit plan needs;
  • Commitment to the provision of high-quality client service standards; and
  • Life Licensed in the Province of BC, or willing to become licensed.
