The Role :
The Director contributes to the production and development of the commercial mortgage portfolio by analyzing financial and supporting documents on incoming applications and ensuring information is consistent with internal, insurer, and investor policies. The role is specific to CMHC, construction, and conventional commercial real estate financing requests.

What you will do :
- Support the AVP in developing and expanding the client base, increasing income and company profit.
- Provide oversight and support to analysts, including reviewing underwriting, credit applications, and loan commitments.
- Manage transactions from start to finish and resolve complex issues.
- Work directly with clients and prospects to gather due diligence, build relationships, and recommend mortgage solutions.
- Make decisions on loan opportunities, structuring, and credit.
- Analyze financial info on commercial properties to determine loan parameters.
- Review third-party reports for compliance and guidelines.
- Review conditions and exceptions, prepare recommendations, and ensure underwriting procedures are followed.
- Prepare loan summaries and coordinate with stakeholders to meet loan conditions.
- Develop and analyze construction/development pro-forma.
- Monitor ongoing construction loan draws and fees.
- Assist in client meetings and training of team members.
- Perform other duties to support the division's goals.
- Share knowledge and act as a resource within the group.
- Make confident recommendations and understand market capital requirements.
- Ensure AML policies are followed.
The Requirements Needed :
- Experience in commercial real estate lending.
- Undergraduate Degree and/or MBA in Finance or Real Estate.
- Knowledge of real estate lending regulations.
- Financial analysis skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience with legal documentation, ownership structures, and AML.
- Preferred experience with CMHC, construction finance, or related fields.
- Familiarity with property valuation and construction processes.
- Advanced PC skills, especially Word and Excel.
- Attention to detail, self-motivation, results-oriented.
- Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
