Qualifications

Overview

VHA Home HealthCare (VHA) is one of the largest not‑for‑profit home care providers in Ontario. Our team is made up of close to 3,000 caring and committed professionals who love what they do.

VHA’s Dietitian is responsible for assessing and providing consultation, recommendations of dietetic interventions to adults, geriatric and / or pediatric group of clients in their homes using evidence‑based best practice.

Pay Range

Commensurate with experience.

Key Areas of Accountability
  • Prepares client reports for health professionals to analyze for treatment.
  • Prepares plans and presentations for clients and their caregivers to provide thorough information on their diet as well as their goals.
  • Educates internal and external staff members about healthy eating and proper nutrition.
  • Supports the following areas of intervention : failure to thrive, dysphasia, feeding problems, enteral feeding, diabetes, cancer, GI disorders, weight management, and palliative care.
  • Helps patients coming to terms with their illness and advise about special and time‑specific diets.
  • Supports safe client care through the development of knowledge and skills in accordance with our principles of continuous quality improvement.
Required Qualifications
  • Member in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience (optimal).
  • Valid Driver’s License with access to a vehicle.
  • Compassionate and empathetic.
  • Self‑driven with ability to work independently.
  • Skilled in caseload management.
  • Skilled at electronic documentation.
  • Able to provide virtual care.
