Job Details

Employer: GLSCANADA

Location: Sherbrooke, QC J1L 2S7 (On the road)

Salary: $20.00 per hour (40 hours per week)

Employment type: Permanent, Full time

Work schedule: Morning, Day, Evening, Early morning

Responsibilities
  • Deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand
  • Operate and drive automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products
  • Maintain professionalism in customer service
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Keep a record of items received and delivered
  • Accept and deliver messages and packages for events, conferences or assemblies
  • Load and unload goods
  • Sort packages for delivery
  • Follow directions and read maps
  • Use maps and other trip planning aids
  • Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems
  • Perform pre‑trip, en route and post‑trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
Qualifications
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role
  • License: Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2‑axle vehicles)
  • Transport/travel experience: Local and Regional
  • Work site environment: Outdoors, on foot, motor vehicles, cold/refrigerated, hot, wet/damp
  • Work setting: Courier company, rural and urban areas; relocation costs not covered by employer
  • Physical capabilities: Attention to detail, fast‑paced environment, tight deadlines, work under pressure, physically demanding, handling heavy loads, walking, weight handling up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
  • Tools/equipment: Cellular phone
  • Personal suitability: Flexibility, judgement, organized, reliability, dependability, initiative, punctuality
