This job posting is for an existing vacancy and is intended to fill a current position within our organization.

Position

We are currently looking for Day Camp Coordinator to join our team of committed professionals. This Full-Time Contract position (8 months) within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Durham location in Sudbury.

START DATE: February 9, 2026

RATE OF PAY: $21.63 / Hourly

HOURS: up to 40 Hours / Weekly

Responsibilities
  • Participate in program delivery schedule as needed
  • Respond to inquiries regarding programs promptly
  • Be a positive role model for all program participants
  • Manage overall summer operations at day camp sites across Sudbury as well as Espanola and Elliot Lake ensuring site Directors have tools and supplies needed
  • Communicate with program participant guardians and staff
  • Complete staff check-ins and evaluations for Site Directors
  • Assist with scheduling staff and volunteers across day camp sites and ensure time cards are completed
  • Complete incident reports for submission to the General Manager of Camping and Youth Leadership
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed in a timely manner
  • Assist with recruitment and selection of staff
  • Assist in providing support to staff and volunteers
  • Ensure that all Association safety standards are met or exceeded
  • Incorporate the Y Way into daily responsibilities
  • Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization
  • Work within established budgets for each location
Qualifications
  • Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
  • National Lifeguard certification (NLS) in good standing (where applicable)
  • Minimum of one (2) years of experience in a supervisory or similar role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
  • Current and satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
