Job summary

A data management consulting firm is seeking a Data Governance Reporting Analyst. This position focuses on developing and maintaining data governance reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, particularly OSFI E-21 and E-23. This role is remote and offers a 12-month contract with a possibility of extension.

As a Data Governance Reporting Analyst, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the development, maintenance, and reporting of enterprise data governance metrics, controls, and compliance activities. You'll align these efforts with regulatory requirements and risk reporting mandates, including OSFI Guidelines E-21 (Operational Resilience) and E-23 (Model Risk Management). This position is within the Enterprise Data Governance Office, under the direction of the AVP, EDGO.

What will you do?
  • Develop and maintain data governance reports and dashboards tracking data quality, metadata, lineage, and compliance metrics
  • Produce performance summaries for Critical Data Elements (CDEs)
  • Prepare regulatory and internal reports demonstrating compliance with initiatives like OSFI E-21 and E-23
  • Coordinate data submissions and evidence gathering for audits and reviews
  • Maintain a centralized data quality and issue management log
  • Collaborate with data stewards and owners to validate data quality results
  • Contribute to data ownership mapping and CDE Register maintenance
  • Assist in maintaining data lineage documentation
  • Support data governance reporting requirements for OSFI E-21
  • Prepare risk‑based reporting on data governance KRIs and KPIs
  • Work with Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams to ensure data meets governance standards
  • Use data governance and reporting tools to manage and visualize metrics
  • Support automation of data quality and governance reports
  • Identify opportunities to streamline governance reporting
  • Participate in testing and rollout of new data governance technologies
What do you need to succeed?
  • 3‑5 years of experience in data governance, data quality, risk reporting, or regulatory data management in financial services
  • Working knowledge of OSFI regulatory frameworks, particularly E‑21 and E‑23
  • Experience with data reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel) and data governance platformsStrong data analysis, visualization, and reporting capabilities
  • Advanced Excel programming and VBA coding skills
  • Familiarity with SQL or other data querying tools (asset)
  • Strong understanding of data quality metrics and controls
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation discipline
  • Effective communication skills for non‑technical audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines and regulatory deliverables
  • Analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills
  • Data stewardship mindset
  • Regulatory awareness and risk sensitivity
  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, information management, business, finance, or related field
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Relevant certifications such as DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or Certified Information Management Professional (CIMP) are considered assets.
