Qualifications

The City of Delta is looking for dynamic, creative, and energetic Dance Instructors to teach our recreational dance programs for children, youth and adults. Instructors are responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, instructional and fun dance classes in preschool dance, ballet, hip hop and jazz. Dance classes in Delta are popular and offered weekday mornings, after school/evenings and weekends. Included in this role will be leading dance-themed birthday parties for children.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver quality dance classes for preschool, ballet, hip hop and jazz for children, youth and adults.
  • Lead dance-themed birthday parties for children.
  • Deliver classes in accordance with program schedules (weekday mornings, after school/evenings, weekends).
Qualifications and Skills
  • Formal training in dance (hip hop, ballet, jazz, and/or other styles).
  • Experience teaching dance classes to children, especially ages 3-9; class management skills are necessary.
  • Lesson planning for 8–10 weeks of classes.

Compensation

The City of Delta provides a competitive salary of $31.00 per hour + 12% in lieu of vacation, public holidays and benefits.
