Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Charge Medical Technologist or designate, the General Duty Medical Technologist (Cross Trained) performs assigned duties in accordance with their scope of training and experience, and according to established protocols. The incumbent provides direct patient/resident care and the technical, administrative, and operational support functions required as part of the multi-disciplinary team approach of service delivery. The incumbent will maintain a safe environment in accordance with professional and provincial guidelines, ensure compliance with quality assurance programs, and uphold standards set by Accreditation. Functions are conducted in accordance with the Mission and Values of Shared Health, current policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.

Experience
  • Previous related experience preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Graduate of an approved Medical Radiography program with certification by CAMRT - OR.
  • Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology program with certification by CSMLS.
  • Graduate of an approved Laboratory or Radiology Assistant Program.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Imaging Technology Program, eligible for registration with CAMRT, and registration within three months of hire.
  • Must maintain current licensing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Manitoba (CMLTM).
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs preferred.
  • Follow oral and written instructions precisely with attention to detail.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills to establish positive relationships within a multidisciplinary team and with external agencies.
  • Proficient analytical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Maintain confidentiality of entrusted information.
  • Fluent in both French and English (written and oral) may be required.
